Welcome to the UK ‘LGBTQ* Covid-19 Lockdown 18-60 Experiences’ Research Project Website

We are pleased to announce that we have our next set of results – you can read about our findings in the report “LGBTQ* UK COVID-19 Experiences: Preliminary Results of the Second Survey”. While over half of those taking part said they’d had problems with well-being or mental health and many felt lonely and isolated, other people had experienced positive gains especially in terms of online services. So, our second survey shows a lot of variability in how LGBTQ+ people aged 18-60 years old have experienced the pandemic. Thanks to everyone who has helped us with this research.

Second Survey Results

Next in our British Academy funded series of projects on LGBTQ*people’s COVID-19 & LOCKDOWN UK experiences, we want to do some individual online interviews to find out more about the personal stories of how LGBTQ+ adults have been over the past year and what’s helped, and what hasn’t, in terms of family, friends and support. We particularly want to hear from people who are aged between 18-35 years old. Our project — One Year On: LGBTQ+ Pandemic Experiences Interviews — has been given ethical approval by Birkbeck University of London. Please do get in touch if you think you can help us and we can send you more info about the interview:
